Hand-Painted Art Couture

A one-of-one wearable work of art by Violeta Lucce, created through the fusion of hand-painted silk and felted silk-merino fibers.

The flowing lower portion is hand-painted directly onto silk, transforming the fabric into a luminous portrait. The upper portion is created through an intricate felting process in which silk and fine merino fibers are carefully merged to form the sculptural texture and delicate volume of the bodice.

At the center of the work, a woman's gaze emerges from the silk—quiet, luminous, and captivating. Her eyes meet the viewer with an almost living presence, transforming the garment from fashion into a moving portrait.

The work brings together painting, textile art, portraiture, and couture in a single one-of-one creation.

The Gaze has been exhibited in a museum in Chicago, placing the work within an artistic context beyond fashion.
